Spiritual Lethargy

Sunday, July 30th, 2006

Spiritual lethargy can creep in to any Christian’s life, but especially any of us who have been serving the Lord for any length of time. The satanic attack is not a direct one today. It is a subtle one, through pulling us away from our first love. The cares and concerns of this life can slowly dampen our zeal for the Lord.

At times, we do not even realize that we have become sluggish about the things of the Lord. How is your zeal for the Lord? Do you still feel your desperate need for Him as you did when you were first saved? If it is time for refueling and rekindling in your heart, join Brother Glenn Goodwin as he admonishes us through the Scriptures to awaken out of our slumber into a renewed relationship with our Savior.

Divine Intervention Without Miracles

Sunday, July 16th, 2006

We read of the restoration of temple worship in such books as Esther, Ezra, Nehemiah. Looking at the difficulties that surrounded these Old Testament saints as they attempted to restore their city and temple, we can learn much and gain encouragement. This land of promise had great potential, yet it required much work and also had much resistance from the neighboring people.

Could they have been discouraged through this rebuilding process? Did God send any miracles to encourage his people to do the right thing? No, but God sent them strong leaders to guide and encourage the people. How can we learn from the rebuilding of the temple and city of the Jewish people? Join Brother Glenn Goodwin in this timeless lesson of drawing closer to the Lord in a time of restoration.
